Undergraduates, recent graduates and advisors can explore the funding opportunities for an international experience that are offered by Harvard University and outside sources including:

• Study Abroad (taking courses abroad)
• Language Study (studying only language abroad)
• Internships or Work Abroad
• Research and/or Senior Thesis
• Community Service/Volunteer Abroad
• Teaching Abroad
• Purposeful Travel (travel with a planned academic focus)

HOW YOU CAN SEARCH:

• Time you would like to travel
• Key words
• Geographical location
• Concentration
• Area of interest

Designed to be inclusive in its search results, the database will present, in most cases, a plethora of funding opportunities. For instance, if you conduct a search for funds to support a project in Spain, the results will include those that are specific to Spain, those that are particular to Europe and those that can be applied anywhere.

WHERE TO GO FOR ADVICE:

Identifying funding sources is only one part of planning your time abroad. Be sure to discuss your plans with the appropriate people, such as

• Faculty
• Concentration and house tutors
• Fellowship advisors
• Staff at regional centers, the OIP and the Office of Career Services
• And especially with students who have returned from an international experience.
